Prepared In Private, Launched To The Public

G

od is a strategic loving father who has a reason for doing everything He does. His power and love transcends from generations to generations. For us to appreciate and reciprocate the love He shows us, we need to understand the way He works.

Too many Christians one way or the other are crying and asking God when their change is going to come. They keep on asking the questions “when will my ministry come out?”, “when will my business come out?”, “when will my education bump up to the level I want it to be?”. Several others are frustrated, depressed, despondent, resentful and bitter against God. The sure way to getting our prayers answered and desires accomplished is to WAIT on him. All we need to do is to join faith with Job and say …all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come [1].”

The truth of the matter is that; God will never launch you to the public without preparing you in the private. Before He brings you out, He first makes sure you have developed strong roots, and tough skin to withstand the oppositions of the enemy. When you are underground, nobody considers or takes account of you, but immediately you come in the limelight, all eyes behold you and the enemy starts launching attacks against you. God can hide a business in Ghana for a long time, knowing if it comes out it will be nipped in the bud.

But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep sheep for his father; and whenever a lion or a bear came, and took a lamb from the flock, I went after it and struck it down, rescuing the lamb from its mouth; and if it turned against me, I would catch it by the jaw, strike it down, and kill it. Your servant has killed both lions and bears; and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, since he has defied the armies of the living God  [2].”

David was the youngest among eight sons, but he was the one looking after the sheep. He was therefore, ostracized and totally abandoned. While in the bush he spotted a pregnant ewe [3], he was happy because that was the time to prove himself to his family by showing them that he was able to increase the population of the flock. He nurtured the ewe until it gave birth to a lamb. To his amazement, there came a lion, and a bear, and took the lamb out of the flock. A lion attacks from the front while a bear attacks from behind. So essentially, two systems came competing for David’s limited resources. Because of David’s alleged ineligibility, the lamb was what he had to show forth, hence, without hesitation, he killed both the lion and the bear and took the lamb from them.

David could have chosen to be bitter, but he rather became better. While in the bush he also learnt other skills like playing the harp, fighting, etc. When the time was due for him to come out of the bush, God used his own testimonies to get him out.

Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him[4].

Saul after hearing this, made them fetch David from the bush to live with him in the palace. When Goliath showed up, David tried to convince Saul that he could fight him, but all his efforts were void upon no effect. The only thing that could convince Saul was his testimony.

The only two weapons that you can use to defeat the enemy are the Blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony [5].” God is preparing you in secret to give you a testimony. Your condition is not meant to kill you, but to give you a testimony so that with the Blood of the Lamb, you can defeat the enemy.

The Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimonies are like a key and a door handle. If you put the key in the locker and turn it, it opens the locker, but without you turning the handle, the door will never open. Don’t be in a hurry to come out, wait for the Lord and get your testimony!
