How To Effectively Answer The Call Of God

How To Effectively Answer The Call Of God

Hear the voice of God

Knowing the voice of God as a believer is very important if we are going to win the battle against the enemy. God speaks to us every now and then, and we must train ourselves to hear His voice. When you are in a room and your father talks from another room, you can easily decipher who’s speaking because you are familiar with his voice. Even in a crowd of people where there is a lot of noise, it is possible you can single out the voice of someone you know. In the same way, God’s voice can easily be heard if we become very family with Him, through constantly going to Him in prayers and meditation.
The voice of God should not be strange to you because you are born of Him. No child goes to school to learn His mother’s tongue. Jesus said “my sheep hear my voice; and I know them, and they follow me” [1].

In order to hear the voice of God and get a specific instruction concerning the assignment He is giving you, clear your mind from any form of preconceived mentality.
Every messenger must have a message, a messenger without a message will eventually be a “massager”, because he will take the truth and massage it. Meanwhile a lie could either be half truth or truth massaged. Therefore, you must ask God for His purpose concerning your life, and the particular assignment He is giving you.

Know your timing

You have to ask God for the “when” of your assignment. The God who sent you knows the right time for you. Ecclesiastes 3 says there is a time for everything under the sun. Moses struck 40 years earlier than God’s time, this sent him on a personal exile. Don’t go ahead of God, and don’t lag behind Him. If you have stepped out in a hurry, step back to the place of order. Job 14:14 says: “…all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.”

The Location

After you have received a message from the Lord, and you know about His divine timing, you have to know where to preach the message you have been given. This is because a message to be preached in Ghana may not be relevant in China. Jonah was going to Tarshish to preach, instead of Nineveh, and he ended up in the belly of a fish for three days and three nights. When it comes to God, the location is very important. When God came to the garden of eden after Adam and Eve had eaten the fruit, His first question was “Adam where are you?” One would have thought that God would query Adam why he ate the fruit, meanwhile He was rather particular about Adam’s change of location.

Know the Method

After knowing what to do, what time to set out and where to do it, you also need to find out how to go about it. Don’t just go about it your own way or the way of others, but ask God for His way and He will show you how to perform the divine task. You may have a good heart and motive, but if you are not on the right path, you will keep on struggling. Get on he right path God has purposed for you in His infinite variety, and you will see your light break out of the gloomy darkness like the bright morning star.

Stay focused.

Distraction is a great tool the enemy uses to get us off track. When you are set on the divine way, within the time of God, don’t branch to the left nor to the right. No matter the storm the enemy hits you with, God will never give you a vision without a provision, neither will He give you an assignment without assistance. He will never put something in your heart without putting something in your hand. Don’t let the devil deceive you! No matter the storm and the wind that hit you, remember that you have an anchor that keeps the soul stedfast and sure while the billows roll; fastened to the Rock which cannot move; grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love.
