The Mystery Of Communion Part 2

In my previous blog, “The Mystery of Communion Part1“, I touched on the mystery of the body of Christ as related to healing. I would like to continue in this article by discussing the role of the bread, as used in communion in opening of sight. Opening of sight is essential to those who believe they have prophetic gift and yearn to see visions and have spiritual experiences. The body of Christ is sufficient to cause the scale covering your spiritual eyes to fall off, for you to see into the spiritual realm.

Opening of sight

What distinguishes a prophet from other people is his ability to perceive things in the spiritual realm. In 1 Samuel 10, Saul and his servant were out in the plains looking for the lost donkeys of his father. In their search, they saw the prophet Samuel, who three days before had received information about Saul from God. Samuel started to give him a detailed prophesy about things which would transpire in his life. In his prophesy, prophet Samuel told Saul that on his journey home, he would meet three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, one carrying three loaves of bread, and the last one carrying a bottle of wine. He further prophesied that the people would give him 2 loaves of bread, and then emphatically said “which you shall accept from them [1]”, this is because no one dares reject the body of Jesus.

Immediately after Saul had received the bread from them, we see him in few verses afterwards prophesying with the group of prophets. It was so amazing that the people literally asked “Is Saul also among the prophets? [2]”. This seeks to confirm the fact that Saul wasn’t a prophet, but after eating the bread, his eyes opened and other prophetic grace were released on him such that he started prophesying.

Again, after the death of Jesus, two of His disciples were on their way to Emmaus, they were discussing about the egregious and the disdain treatment the Jews had meted to Jesus. As they kept on with the discussion, Jesus appeared in their midst and joined in the conversation. Jesus begun to expound the Scriptures concerning Himself to them. They invited Jesus to spend the night with them since it was late. While seated for dinner, Jesus took bread, blessed it and gave it to them. Immediately they ate the bread, their eyes opened, then they realised they had been with Jesus all this while [3].

The body of Jesus is sufficient to open your eyes to see things the way God sees them. May your eyes open as you take the body of Christ in the name of Jesus!

Read on the mystery of the blood of Jesus as a symbolic of the wine taken in communion.
